in the last three weeks, I spent every single minute learning, writing or taking pictures for school, since everyone thought it was a good idea to put every single test or deadline into these three weeks. AND I'm terribly bad at time-management. now I've got to catch up with my work at the museum, because I didn't have time for that during the end of term. a combination which leaves me spending my holidays at work, which is so totally unlike me, that I feel like I'm someone entirely new.
but there's a lot of good aspects in all this - for the first time, I took part in a huge photo-shooting in an empty building, and the outcome is unbelievably interesting. we had all sorts of people there, and quite a number of different scenes and arrangements, which worked pretty well. I also had a number of new ideas and have realized them already.
another good thing happened to me yesterday at college: three former students of my school, who are already established photographers now, came to us and gave us an opportunity to show them our work and receive professional feedback. one of them is a freelance theatre photographer, whom I liked instantly. and since theatre photography is a thing which I love, I asked her if she would take me as her student apprentice.
at first she said no, because her work is too irregular for this kind of thing, but when I told her that I'm already working at a studio every monday and don't need a regular traineeship, she agreed to employ me as an assistent!! (which is much better than I expected). it won't be regular work, but unlike my other traineeship, she says she wants to pay me, and she will only tell me to come when there's something for me to learn!
I'm really happy and SO looking forward to the next few weeks - I've got a feeling all the work pays off.
